Social Media Specialist
The
National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is a national public entity
established through the NYDA Act of 2008 and by merging the National
Youth Commission (NYC) and Umsobomvu Youth Fund (UYF). The mandate of
the NYDA is to develop and implement integrated and sustainable youth
development programmes, as well as create and promote coordination in
youth development matters in the country.

Name of Position: Social Media Specialist
Total Number of Positions Vacant: One
Reporting to: Content Manager: Communications
Job Purpose- To assist with link-building and socialisation of Communications’ online content. This includes the management of social media properties (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.), including posting, and content development.
- Co-ordination and implementation of social media marketing communication projects with responsibilities that include social media advertising and creating brand awareness online.
- Data Management including daily monitoring
- Engagement of social media and relevant new media: Updates, research, sourcing of information, stakeholder management, marketing and branding, moderate forums and chats. Leverage video sharing sites like YouTube to advance client’s message or image. Conduct online research to identify Web sites and online influencers for outreach
- Reporting: Data analysis, content analysis, status reports
- Written items: Be able to write articles, blogs, etc.
- Contribute strategy and solutions to new business efforts
- Proactively introduce new ideas for client initiatives: Research and presentation
- Monitor social networks for potential threats or opportunities
- Key understanding of social media platforms and use as brand builder, effective communication tool and marketing tool – ICT or Marketing qualification preferable
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Demonstrated ability to understand business concepts
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant field
